This movie, Morning Glory, was so light, it would blow away in a light wind, but the chemistry between Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton was so good the light mood was quickly forgotten.

No Strings Attached (2011 movie)

Both the stars for No Strings Attached go to Natalie Portman’s acting ability. It’s not that anyone else is poor, but she’s just so far ahead of the rest of the cast in this movie. Alas, it’s another of those comedies where you’ll be lucky to find a place to ‘chuckle’ let alone break into a full laugh. It’s not a drama although it may well get filed there at the rent a DVD shops.

Natalie Portman leaves you in a trance, her performance is so majestic, outstanding and a worthy winner of the gold statue, due soon. Even if you’re not a fan of ballet, it won’t matter at all as this movie isn’t about ballet, Black Swan is about major character change from white swan to black swan.

127 hours (2010 movie)

Danny Boyle is a genius. Given a logline that goes: ‘man, by himself, gets trapped, cuts off arm to live’ extending that to a fast moving, poignant movie, is a challenge to say the least. Boyle exceeds as he puts himself into the frame for director of the year, if not the past decade. 127 hours is the result of one director’s dream, fulfilled.

How Do You Know (2010 movie)

To the question of ‘How Do You Know?’ I answer simply, ‘By the end, I didn’t care to know’ referring to why this movie with such great stars just meanders along with no guts, character energy or level of particular interest.
