It would appear that the number of mistakes spotted rises with the popularity of the movie. This infers that big movies make more mistakes, but probably really means that people spend more time looking for an error in a major movie so they can boast spotting it, to their closet friends.

The more diligent spotters have found over 300 errors with Apocalypse Now and over 250 with The Harry Potter films, Star Wars and Wizard of Oz.
