Here’s the different types of coverage and service I supply.

General coverage US$200

General coverage includes a grade sheet (industry standard) that assesses the key fundamentals of your screenplay on a grade scale of Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor. Then one to two pages that follow including notes about why I would choose to score a pass or would recommend your screenplay. Two to three extra pages are broken down into notes and suggestions concerning story and plot, structure, characters, action, dialogue and writing.

There will be an end result for the material on a “pass,” “consider,” or “recommend” basis.

If your script receives a recommend grade, the notes will center on how to squeeze the script and aim for victory.

Extended coverage US$340

Extended Coverage offers all of the parts of General Coverage, plus three to four pages of suggestions on how to progress the script to achieve the required grade.

Extended coverage includes a grade sheet (industry standard) that assesses the key fundamentals of your screenplay on a grade scale of Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor. Then one to two pages that follow including notes about why I would choose to score a pass or would recommend your screenplay. Four to five extra pages are broken down into in-depth notes and suggestions concerning story and plot, structure, characters, action, dialogue and writing.

There will be an end result for the material on a “pass,” “consider,” or “recommend” basis.
If your script receives a recommend grade, the notes will center on how to squeeze the script and and aim for victory.

Treatment US$130

Treatments are written to plan the story, its characters, setting, structure and plots in a current tense manuscript. I offer coverage on your treatment from a writer’s standpoint, helping you to locate and answer problems with the story before you start the scriptwriting process. You can save time and later problems by getting your treatment right before you even start the script.

Synopsis US$130

You may well get asked to provide a synopsis of your screenplay before you can even part with the script itself. I’ll help analyze your synopsis. This may be all a movie studio executive reads. A studio reader may write a synopsis of your screenplay before it gets to the studio executive. Help them! This may form part of the movie’s easy read marketing package. The DVD packaging words to grip the reader’s attention..

I’ll review your synopsis and offer suggestions to make it tighter, accurate and sizzle.

F(requently) A(sked) Q(uestions)

How long will it take?

Usually I’ll turn your service around in 7 days, However, if I’m too busy, I won’t just take your money and get your work back to you when I can. I’ll let you know when I can do the work for you and see if that’s acceptable. I receive different levels of work each week, so some weeks are better than others – I just don’t know which!

I only take on 2-3 tasks a week.

Are you the most expensive?

No. I like to strike a balance between what my time is worth and what people can afford.

aAre you the least expensive?

No. I have to live, eat and go to the beach.

What software do you recommend?

Final Draft, but the Movie Outline and Movie Magic sets are getting much better these days. Celtx is free if you’re short of funds.

Do you really read the whole script?

Yes, every word. I don’t just read ten pages and type your report based upon pages I haven’t seen, unlike some others I wouldn’t mention here…

What languages do you accept?

At present, only in English.

Where are your testimonials?

I don’t offer them. To be fair, I’d only post good/great ones (not that I’ve had bad ones) and other people’s remarks are not relevant or individual to you. I want to work with you so trust two ways is important to me.

Do I need to sign a release form?

No, I won’t steal your idea or your script; you already have the copyright.

Can I get my money back?

You’ll find the answer is almost certainly no. There’s a good reason; you’ve asked someone for a professional opinion and whether you agree with it or not, it is their judgment.

You might find the criticism hard to take. If you can’t take it then perhaps this isn’t the right line of work for you. You’ll need to be able to step back and analyze what they have to say and hopefully you’ll see the truth in their appraisal and comments. The analyst’s opinion will be a necessary stage to help you move your screenplay on to the next level; that’s what you’re paying for. They’ll tell you what you need to hear, not what you’d like to hear. The reputation of an analyst is at stake when they deliver their report to you. As long as the suggestions are fair and honest, then you should step back and listen to what is being said to you.

Think of me as a professional script doctor.

Do you have a script/screenplay/theatre play that you want to improve, but don’t know how to do it?
You have your finished script. You think you’re ready to send it out to the industry. Then you realize you’ll only get one shot at it – your script must be great, the very best it can be, not just good. You should check it first with a professional.

In terms of money, this may be the best investment you can make in your career.

To get a real player to give a full assessment of your script the way any key screenwriter’s script would be evaluated and to know your weakness and your strengths is a priceless piece of information. Hollywood may be legendary in many respects, but it functions to make money. If someone is going to buy your screenplay for $200,000 or more, they’re going to want to know they’ve got the goods and this is one way of your knowing whether you’ve got it.

For you, I’m going to look for screenplay structure. What happens when is important.

I’ll look at format; the industry expects to get screenplays in one format only; any other and the reject pile just got closer.

I’ll look at the plot, the theme, the protagonist, the antagonist, the dialogue, the characterizations, the tension, the character arcs, the resolutions, the conclusions, the commercial potential, and whatever you specifically ask for. You might want the ending to be stronger; just tell me what you want me to look at.
