2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards Nominations – American Hustle, 12 Years A Slave, Gravity

It’s American Hustle versus 12 Years A Slave for grabbing the most nominations for this year’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. These two films each received 13 nods, followed by Gravity and its 10 nominations. With 6 nods, it’s Captain Phillips, Her, Nebraska and The Wolf of Wall Street while The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug earned 5 shoutouts for the 2014 CCMAs. But there are several more honorees this year, for several categories — one of the major ones for the night is Best Picture. American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska, Saving Mr. Banks, 12 Years A Slave and The Wolf of Wall Street. Let’s take a quick look at the Best Actor and Best Actress categories.

These are just a few categories for the Critic’s Choice Movie Awards, there will also be trophies given for Best Young Actor/Actress, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Direction, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Song, Best Editing, Best Makeup, Best Costume Design as well as for practically all aspects of film making start to finish. Shoutout to Catching Fire for getting a Best Action Movie nod and Jennifer Lawrence got one too for the Hunger Games sequel in addition to her Best Supporting Actress nomination in American Hustle. The latter is a big category with Oprah Winfrey, Scarlet Johansson, Julia Roberts and others among the competition.
