iPhone X 4K video test (Filmed with FiLMiC Pro at 100Mbps)
It has been a little delay for this iPhone X video test. I picked up the phone few days after the launch day. Because I was shooting a wedding in Melbourne. And I did not have time after I got back to Perth.
First of all, the iPhone X looks very nice. It feels really good in hands. The 4K video is amazing for a mobile phone. With the FiLMic Pro app, it makes the iPhone video quality to the next level. Same as last year iPhone 7 Plus, it has the 56mm tele lens. And I love that 56mm tele lens. The 56mm tele lens let you do more creative shots. But I wish the 4K video has image stabilization (Video Image Stabilization only works in 1080p or 720p mode). Because doing handheld shots with the tele lens is not a good idea. Apple has also increased the the maximum aperture from last gen f/2.8 to this year f/2.4. Meaning you can get little bit nicer bokeh.
In this video test review, I have used the FiLMiC Pro. Not just because I get more full control over focus, exposure, white balance. The app also let you increase from 47mbps to 100mbps. And with the Log picture profile, it gives you much better dynamic range.
Over all, I love the image coming out from the camera. The 4K video is nice and sharp. I think it’s an awesome phone camera that’s always with you when you go out.
