Connecther.org – Girls Impact the World Film Festival Awards at Harvard!

Now you can watch the Girls Impact the World Film Festival Awards Ceremony that was held at Harvard College on February 22, 2014. It was an amazing evening with special guests Abigail Disney (producer of the Women in War series), Eloise DeJoria (actress & philanthropist), Ian Somerhalder (star of the Vampire Diaries) and Kim Klingler (ED of the IS Foundation). Keep watching all the way through to see an amazing keynote from Abigail Disney; a wonderful conversation with Ian Somerhalder and Kim Klingler & a heartfelt talk by Eloise DeJoria. Many of the student film-makers were also present to accept their awards!

The film festival is a scholarship CONTEST that allows students to submit 3 – 5 minute films on issues related to advancing women and girls globally. You can learn more about issue areas and prizes at www.connecther.org/gitw. This year we partnered with the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to create a “Green IS” prize for a student that submits a film that shows the effects of environmental issues on women and girls. We also partnered with the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) to create a prize to encourage more MENA region film-makers to apply.

The GITWFF is an initiative of Connecther.org, co-produced with the Harvard College Social Innovation Collaborative (@HarvardSIC).
