It’s taken quite a few months, but I FINALLY found a cheap, easy, and simple lighting setup for my YouTube videos.
It’s a very minimalist approach, using only two inexpensive lights, I’m able to achieve the exact soft, diffused look I wanted. All I had to do was point them at a white closet door, and BOOM! Problem solved. The door (or wall if that what you have) can act as a reflector/diffuser.n
Using whatever lights you have available to you, you can definitely find a way to increase the production quality of your videos. The most important thing is to remember that the lighting is just as important as the camera shots and the sound quality! It all comes together to make a great video!
This video is not sponsored in ANY way, but if you’re curious, here are Amazon Affiliate links to the lights I mention. They’ve been great for me so far, so I highly recommend them (plus Dracast lights are this sweet blue metal color, which I think looks super rad):

About The Enthusiasm Project!
Make a Video • Make an Impact
My name is Tom Buck. I’m a high school digital media teacher with a lifelong interest in video, photo, and tech. Basically, I’ve always had “too many” hobbies, but finding new ways to connect the dots and learn new things along the way has always been incredibly fun and interesting.
I like to share what I know to help others get excited about making cool stuff. Life is short and time is limited, and I believe that digital media, and especially video, is a powerful tool to express creativity and explore new ideas.
I upload new videos every Thursday morning, and more often when possible!
