The best camera is the one you have always with you…
The GoPro Hero 7 Black is such a camera and I was able to test it for a month on the Gili Islands in Indonesia and a backpacking tour through Thailand. Watch the video to see the result…
I’m very impressed with the results of the GoPro Hero 7 Black. Of course, it’s not a high-end production camera. But the results can be quite cinematic, thanks to the hyper-smooth stabilization.
What I really love about this camera is that I only need to press one button to get smooth, high-quality footage in 4K60fps. And because of its size, there is just no excuse to don’t bring it everywhere. It even saves me from bringing a gimbal with me, at least for wide-angle shots.
Thanks to www.backpackingthroughthailand.com for taking me on the trips to get this amazing footage.

How to really get stable footage with your GoPro Hero 7:
My GoPro Hero 7 Black settings for cinematic footage:
1. Go in the menu by swiping from top to the bottom, click on general settings and set video compression to HEVC! If that makes your footage runs laggy on your computer use EditReady or another app to convert it to Apple ProRes or MPEG4 with 200mbits.
Res | FPS: 4K | 60
EV Comp: -0.5 or -1
White Balance: Native (Native if you need to match the footage with other cameras. Otherwise, you can also choose the correct number. Native needs white balance adjustments in post-production!)
ISO Min: 100
ISO Max: 400 (800 if it gets darker)
