Hrishikesh Mukherjee says “Well I joined New Theatres in 1945 in the processing laboratory. My ambition was to be a cameraman so I thought that would be a good start because I learned the basics of photography processing.”

Hrishikesh Mukherjee (Deceased) (Hrishikesh) a.k.a. Hrishikesh Mukhopaddhae is an Indian director and an editor, born on September 30, 1922 in Kolkata, West Bengal (India). His debut Film was Musafir (1957) and later he worked in many Hindi films including Jhoot Bole Kauwa Kaate, Namumkin, Jhoothi, Achha Bura, Rang Birangi, Bemisal, Mili etc.
